New blog
Since practically everyone is asking why I don't use blogger, encouraging me to use..I figured that I could give it a try. Besides that, voonhui told me that day that only registered Xanga users can leave comments in my posts. I was like, "What?"..Gee, never knew that. Anyway, I'm opening a new blog.
I have just posted my first post..
And the fact that all the words kept appearing in italic is bothering me! Whatever..*grits teeth*
Do pay a visit to my blog if you're free!
http://scentofmylife.blogspot.com/ --> New blog web address. You can click on "my 2nd blog" at the links on the side bar.. Y can't I make the hyperlinK here?!! Finally thr's sth to complain about Xanga...

Violin...
I have become sort of addicted to my violin recently. Why? Honestly, I have no idea myself. Perhaps partly because of orchestra? Maybe..I mean, it was for the sake of orchestra that I started to practise a lot. Okay, not really a LOT, but much better than usual. I'll be discreet about that. Back to topic, I don't believe it as well but I am stuck in a 'practise violin morning and night routine'. Like, before leaving for school, after coming back from school..sometimes before sleeping( There's the possibility of having eggs thrown at my window.) .
My violin which is getting a bit old..
The 联合日报 company organized a Piano Competition last weekend. 5 participants from each 2 categories are selected to enter the Final round on Sunday. MOCS was invited to perform so we had the chance to attend and watch the competition at Imperial Ballroom. It was most ridiculous that the seats that were supposedly reserved for us were given away to the audience. Luckily, they opened up the other half of the ballroom, where we sat in the end. All the same, they prepared a room for us to eat, put our instrument cases etc. Guess what our dinner was? Sugarbun! A burger and a drumstick each. And since there were no chairs in the freezing cold room( Rebecca and I were practically shivering), we looked awfully pathetic..imagine people dressed in formal black, sitting on the floor eating burgers...
*Switched off my phone early..no cam.
The stage.
Don't laugh..this is from the newspaper. MOCS performing.
Close-up. Grand piano is blocking those behind it.
The Category B winner..who turns out to be my classmate's brother..performing his finale.
A bit tired of typing. But I still want to pay my highest respect to all who offered help to the Sichuan earthquake victims. Particularly the rescuers, the medical teams, the volunteers...Also, we got to know countless heartwarming stories happening amidst the rubble after the calamity occurred. If you read newspapers or watch the special fund-raising programme organized by the Phoenix TV, you'll hear a lot of them.
The boy who rescued 2 of his classmates after climbing out of the rubble..his reason? "I'm the class monitor."
The policewoman who fed 9 infants her breast milk because there was a shortage of milk..and the infants had no parents by their sides.
The little boy who saluted his rescuers when being saved with his only good hand left-> He lost his left hand.
The owner of a big company who sent all his machines to earthquake site for rescue purpose, dressed up as a soldier and joint in the rescuers' work.
The Good Samaritan who picked up a baby from the roadside rubble and brought it to the medical centre. This lady left after the baby was handed to the medical staff. No one knows who she is, except that her right hand was injured quite seriously.
The 13 volunteers from Tangshan who rushed to aid as fast as possible, rescuing 25 ppl in total.
The teachers who sacrificed their lives for saving their students.
The man who donated his blood twice in a day because he had no money to donate.
The mother who half-kneeled on the floor to protect her baby underneath, living only a text message in her phone for the baby->"My dear, if you managed to live on, you must remember, I love you."
A smile for all ~ produced using honey for my French toast in canteen.
There will always be a bright tomorrow... =)

Song tag
Tagged by Sis
Rules:
1. Put your music player on shuffle.
2. Press forward for each question.
3. Use the song title as the answer to the question even if it doesn't make any sense. No cheating.
4. With the answers, give your comments on how it relates to the questions.
5. Tag 5 people.
Thanks sis, for tagging me..Which means I will have interesting challenges of translation. 65% of my songs are Korean songs. Chinese songs were deleted since I abandoned them ages ago. 25% goes to instrumental songs. The 10% left are English songs..which are, more or less isolated as well. Anyway, I'll go ahead...I will exclude the instrumental songs except those which have lyrics actually.
Alright, I'm about to start. But I'll probably be drifting between this tag and other things..
1. How are you feeling today?
Can You Feel The Love Tonight from The Lion King by Elton John
Can you feel the love tonight
The peace the evening brings
The world for once, in perfect harmony,
With all its living things.
Indeed a peaceful evening.
But I doubt that the world is in perfect harmony..
2. Will you get far in life?
꿈속에서 (In my dreams) by Tim
In my lifetime,
Even if my heart melts because I love you,
and is left behind with tears..
..There's nothing to regret about this love.
Gee, that's so sad. Hope that doesn't happen to me!
3. How do your friends see you?
I Can Go the Distance from Hercules by Michael Bolton
I will find my way,
I can go the distance,
I'll be there someday,
If I can be strong.
I know every mile,
will be worth my while.
They see me as a determined and strong-willed person? That's good!
4. Will you get married?
My ringtone! One of my fav songs!!
조심하세요(Please Be Careful) by Tim
If you come to know love again, if you meet someone else
then don't show them all of you; talk a little bad to them.
Because if they become a little selfish
because of your lovely appearance
then you'll hurt again. Please be careful.
Lovely appearance? Haha...thanks for the compliment.
BUT..will I get married? It just says that I'll get hurt!
Oh my, it is playing along with question 2~
5. What is your best friend's theme song?
또나지마(Don't Leave Me) by Shin Hye Sung
I haven't once forgotten you.
Do you know of my foolish heart?
Have you erased all memory of me?
That's the only part of the song without obvious hints of love.
It's a love song after all..
Friends won't forget each other!!
6. What is the story of your life?
Blahaha...I Can't Wait to be King from The Lion King
by Geoff Hoyle, Scott Irby-Ranniar, and Kajuana Shuford
No one saying do this
No one saying be there
No one saying stop that
No one saying see here
Free to run around all day
Free to do it all my way!
A life full of freedom? Not quite like it..I'm bounded by studying..
7. What was high school life like?
In Moments like These [instrumental] - Somatrio
In moments like these I sing out a song
I sing out a love song to Jesus
In moments like these I lift up my hands
I lift up my hands to the Lord
Singing, I love You, Lord
Singing, I love You, Lord
Singing, I love You, Lord
I love You
Yes, it's a Christian song.
Well, I certainly spent much time in church during high school..
getting involved in Youth Fellowship, also in the ISCF at school.
Thanks Lord, for leading me through my life! I love you!
8. How can you get ahead in life?
Summer in Love by Fly to the Sky(Hwan Hee and Brian)
I love you forever you're my everything
Remember that I love you
Though time passes
We'll be together always.
*struggling with translation* I can't be too far off..
Hmm..Love helps me move on in life?
That's interesting..but who knows?
Love has been known to be motivational!
9. What's the best thing about your friends?
Bye Bye by SS501 - One of the minority rock songs I have.
Bye Bye Baby Bye
You come into my dreams once again
Bye Bye Baby Bye
I will always keep you in my embrace
I really DO dream of my friends..
you see, I am the type of person who dreams every night,
no exception..
so friends are sure to appear.
As for what I dreamt of them, shhh...
10. Describe your grandparents.
하루새(In One Day)by Tim
You're the only one gone, the only who left,
But is that right? Has that empty seat grown like this?
Gosh..my paternal grandparents had passed away
but my maternal grandparents are still as fit as fiddles!
Let's move on.
11. How's your life going?
Track 7 - Unknown Album.
No idea what's the title..but it's from korean drama Spring Waltz.
I want to meet you,
just once.
Tears are falling down...
Who is it I wanna meet??
12. What song will they play at your funeral?
내주를 가까이 하게함은(Nearer, My God, to thee) [instrumental]
by Somatrio
There let the way appear, steps unto heaven;
all that thou sendest me, in mercy given;
angels to beckon me
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!
This is soo perfecto. Isn't that a most suitable song for a funeral?
Nearer to God,
following the steps up to heaven..
13. How the world sees you?
I am so so reluctant to ans. 겁쟁이(Coward) by SS501
An idiot who cannot tell
An idiot who cannot talk whenever I see you
I want to hold you and confess to you
Why doesn't the chance come?
NOOOO!! I'm not a coward!! *weeps..*
14. Do people secretly lust after you?
Three Person by Lee Ki Chan
If you cannot love me,
Don't be too far,
Not too close too.
*sweat..translation is hard work.
And it's hard to find these not so popular songs' lyrics*
Okay, I'll try to. But I don't know who you are.
Perhaps no such person exists?
15. How can you make yourself happy?
Gleaming Star by SS501
My wishes of my heart...
I forgot I have some Japanese songs..
That's the few english words in the song..
I know no Japanese..
Make do make do, I make myself happy
by following my heart's wishes!
16. What should you do with your life?
My Girl by SS501
I'm not afraid of the future
I will stand by you when you are sad.
Indeed, I shall face every obstacles that come my way bravely..
I will accompany my friends and family always.
17. Will you ever have children?
Hajimete Miru Sora Daata(The First Time I See the Sky) by Heo Young Saeng
Once again, I'm illiterate in Japanese.
And I really see no connection between sky and having children..
Let's have another go...
Hakuna Matata from The Lion King
It means no worries for the rest of your days
It's our problem-free philosophy
Hakuna Matata!
Hahaha...that seems like a positive answer to me!
18. What is your personality like?
Everything by SS501
I'm thinking of you whatever you do
I can feel you
I'm just loving you wherever you are..
I want to give you all the splendid things in this world
This is how I’m changing for you my love
Ohh..I'm so faithful towards my companion..it's TRUE!
In the future, that is...
19. What is your deep dark secret?
I'll Be The One by Backstreet Boys
You need me like I need you
We can share our dreams comin' true
I can show you what true love means
Just take my hand, baby please
That's not one of my secrets..such a long time since I last listened to this song..
20. What is your mortal enemy's theme song?
You're Still You by Josh Groban
I look up to
Everything you are
In my eyes you do no wrong
And I believe in you
Although you never asked me to
I will remember you
And what life put you through
My enemy pays me that much respect! Great...I have no enemies!
Nice song~
21. What song will be played at your wedding?
Because You Love Me by Celine Dion
* The lyrics are beautiful. I'll put them all up. Enjoy them..
For all those times you stood by me
For all the truth that you made me see
For all the joy you brought to my life
For all the wrong that you made right
For every dream you made come true
For all the love I found in you
I'll be forever thankful baby
You're the one who held me up
Never let me fall
You're the one who saw me through through it all
You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith 'coz you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me
You gave me wings and made me fly
You touched my hand I could touch the sky
I lost my faith, you gave it back to me
You said no star was out of reach
You stood by me and I stood tall
I had your love I had it all
I'm grateful for each day you gave me
Maybe I don't know that much
But I knew this much is true
I was blessed because I was loved by you
You were always there for me
The tender wind that carried me
A light in the dark shining your love into my life
You've been my inspiration
Through the lies you were the truth
My world is a better place because of you
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me
Lovely. As a marriage song..isn't it?
..THE END..
Fun tag..At least something special.
Notice: If you're reading this and it's night time, you're tagged. =)

s.c.h.o.o.l
Another birthday.
I'm going to go broke if another one comes up these days.
Well, the birthday boy this time is our ex-classmate Greg who left us in pursue of his pilot dream. (Good luck!) His birthday falls on 23rd May, yesterday. We had him back in school to give him a birthday celebration.

Greg's birthday cake..it was a huge Black Forest cake.
When the lights were off, the candles lit...
The very happy birthday boy.
Cut your cake! We're hungry.
Those triangular things are chocolates..
On the same day, in the afternoon after our classes, I attended the first meeting of the Photography Club set up by Arthur and Ee Cheng. It turned out that Arthur is a skilled photographer, what with selling photographs and being rated as a "semi-pro" by National Geographic when he was living in New Zealand.
Arthur giving details about his kit of cameras.
What's up??
Cameras on display.
The Nikon camera bought in 1995 with RM3000+! That would never happen to me. First, I won't buy a camera priced up to 4 digits. Second, I doubt if a camera can still be in tip-top condition for 13 years with me..I was 5 years old in 1995!
Now..illustrations below are purely for fun and were drawn out of boredom. So, obtaining the idea from the penguin stickers on Winnie's and my calculator, I started to draw on the notes..
*Once again, no offense to all. My apologies if you are not happy with what I drew of you.
First penguins I drew. Bigger than all the others..These 4 of us were sitting in the front row that day. The "drawn by" and "Approved by" were written by the one who went "hahaha..."
Chess club founders Vincent and Jonathan playing chess. Qi Ying munching away at her apple..
Lecturers. Our Chem lec, Dr Lee and M3 lec Winnie! Just in case you're curious about Ms. Winnie's bubble speech...Yong Han smeared cake cream onto her face on Greg's birthday...
Bio lec Ms. May. Short for Maybelline. And our C.T. lec Ms. Harbinder..sorry, I really can't remember your name's spelling.
Present and ex-Physics lec.
Present: Mr. Kho. Or is it Koh? Absent-minded me. Do take care of your neck.
Ex : Mr. Tan. Though you always deny your love for us, we know you love us!! (thick-faced)
Wen Wen who aspires to be a jeweller..and Ruth, a dentist.
Arthur with his cam. Ee Cheng thinking about cars.
Sorry, Maurice..you were caught sleeping in class. Maybe I should upload the photo as well?? I'll get it from Winnie..mummy Connie giggling..a blurry Su Yi, tissue supplier and ex-mummy Ling Lee and lastly, Nat with her dear handphone.
My little bear offering me silent encouragement whilst I drew.
Lalala..I got a new pair of pumps. Black ones. Thanks to my old pair of black shoes which got spoiled so there's no other option but to buy new ones for tomorrow's short orchestra performance. Here's my new pumps. Costed RM10 more than my golden pumps bought in KL --> RM49.

Anyway, I think I'm coping with bad memory recently..There was this book entitled Bad Kitty I saw Anu reading in school few weeks ago..Nothing came to mind. I flipped through it a little. Then, I came across it again when my sister came back from KL. My impression was that she bought it there. So, I read it since I was done with The Righteous Men by Sam Bourne. After reading for about a whole chapter, something finally stirred in my brain. I read it last year during CNY in KK(and Beijing)! Fancy me not realizing it all the while...

Concert
Last night was the Miri Orchestra and Choir Society(MOCS) concert held by Pustaka Miri in conjunction with Miri City Day. So naturally, it was held in the Auditorium, Pustaka Miri. It was the first time I took part in the orchestra..my previous performances were only in church and at the school concert(Bad memory.). I'm glad I joined it. Learnt a lot. Discovered nice pieces. Yanni's Tribute is really wonderful. But it's soo hard to play. Forgot to mention, I played the second violin.
Venue. Pustaka Miri.
Tall pillars outside..
Stairs..mirror illusion?
There was a painting exhibition going on.
During practice..I was early.
Violins..
More violins. Backstage.
I used my phone to videod these during rehearsal so bit blurry..just a small part of the song. Don't tell me you don't recognize it. Hint: Titanic.
Conductor is Yap Ling from Sabah Orchestra. He's a fantastic violinist. Showed us the wide range of sounds a triangle can make while we were backstage...
My teacher, James Lau featuring the saxophone solo with Chamber Orchestra. Thanks for "forcing" me to join orchestra..no regrets luckily. ^^
By the way, no photos at present cause we can't have our valuables at backstage so couldn't take pics. Okie..the end. Look forward to next performance.
