  • Violin...

I have become sort of addicted to my violin recently. Why? Honestly, I have no idea myself. Perhaps partly because of orchestra? Maybe..I mean, it was for the sake of orchestra that I started to practise a lot. Okay, not really a LOT,  but much better than usual. I'll be discreet about that. Back to topic, I don't believe it as well but I am stuck in a 'practise violin morning and night routine'. Like, before leaving for school, after coming back from school..sometimes before sleeping( There's the possibility of having eggs thrown at my window.) .

My violin which is getting a bit old..

The 联合日报 company organized a Piano Competition last weekend. 5 participants from each 2 categories are selected to enter the Final round on Sunday. MOCS was invited to perform so we had the chance to attend and watch the competition at Imperial Ballroom. It was most ridiculous that the seats that were supposedly reserved for us were given away to the audience. Luckily, they opened up the other half of the ballroom, where we sat in the end. All the same, they prepared a room for us to eat, put our instrument cases etc. Guess what our dinner was? Sugarbun! A burger and a drumstick each. And since there were no chairs in the freezing cold room( Rebecca and I were practically shivering), we looked awfully pathetic..imagine people dressed in formal black, sitting on the floor eating burgers...

*Switched off my phone early..no cam.

    The stage.

Don't laugh..this is from the newspaper. MOCS performing.

Close-up. Grand piano is blocking those behind it.

The Category B winner..who turns out to be my classmate's brother..performing his finale.

A bit tired of typing. But I still want to pay my highest respect to all who offered help to the Sichuan earthquake victims. Particularly the rescuers, the medical teams, the volunteers...Also, we got to know countless heartwarming stories happening amidst the rubble after the calamity occurred. If you read newspapers or watch the special fund-raising programme organized by the Phoenix TV, you'll hear a lot of them.

The boy who rescued 2 of his classmates after climbing out of the rubble..his reason? "I'm the class monitor."
The policewoman who fed 9 infants her breast milk because there was a shortage of milk..and the infants had no parents by their sides.
The little boy who saluted his rescuers when being saved with his only good hand left-> He lost his left hand.
The owner of a big company who sent all his machines to earthquake site for rescue purpose, dressed up as a soldier and joint in the rescuers' work.
The Good Samaritan who picked up a baby from the roadside rubble and brought it to the medical centre. This lady left after the baby was handed to the medical staff. No one knows who she is, except that her right hand was injured quite seriously.
The 13 volunteers from Tangshan who rushed to aid as fast as possible, rescuing 25 ppl in total.
The teachers who sacrificed their lives for saving their students.
The man who donated his blood twice in a day because he had no money to donate.
The mother who half-kneeled on the floor to protect her baby underneath, living only a text message in her phone for the baby->"My dear, if you managed to live on, you must remember, I love you."

A smile for all ~ produced using honey for my French toast in canteen.

There will always be a bright tomorrow... =)
